OUR FARM!

UFCS knows that the best way to feed our children is to give them the opportunity to be self sustaining. A 6-acre plot of land has become available nearby! Our goal is to rent all 6 acres and plant a FARM! It is $15/acre/month ($90/month) to feed 200 children and also sell leftovers at market. Since Bunia hasTWO growing seasons, we will be able to feed the kids, teach them farming and business skills, and make some money for other needs!
RABBITS!​

It's nearly impossible for the desperately poor orphans in Bunia to receive adequate protein. We're addressing the problem by breeding rabbits! Rabbits are a terrific source of protein AND amino acids.
100g of rabbit meat gives 30g of protein; the full daily requirement for children!
Rabbit meat is similar to chicken, a mild and very healthy food source (used in all countries throughout history).
Any leftover meat goes to market to help us become as self-sustaining as possible.
